Like most great things, Genius Hour is coming to a close. I personally felt very thrilled to be able to get into a great depth of research for something I felt so passionate about. Here are some questions and the answers regarding this project.

 1. What was your favorite part of the topic you chose? My favorite part about my topic was most definitely finding new information about dreams and being able to able it to my own. For example, if i had a recurring dream i was able to identify which of my dreams fell into that category.
2. What was your least favorite part of the topic you chose? My least favorite part would probably have to be that some information regrading why we dream wasn't exactly definite, making it hard to get accurate info.
3. What do you like best about Genius Hour research? Being able to focus on one thing you are very passionate about and finding out something new about it.
4. What do you like least about Genius Hour research? Having to do the weekly blogs.
5. What was the most important thing you learned about yourself, how you learn, or research in general as a result of this work? That I am more of a visual learner, I would prefer to be given something to do research on and reading articles or information. Doing that helps be thoroughly understand it better.

The Dream Song
In the Land of Milk and Cookies, SharkBoy sang the Dream Song to Max after LavaGirl's lullaby wasn't effective.
LYRICS:
Close your eyes, shut your mouth, dream a dream and get us out,
dream, dream, dream, dream, dream, dream.
Hit the hay, fast asleep, dream a dream, you little bleep,
dream, dream, dream, dream, dream, dream.
(musical interlude)
Just relax, lay about, or my fist will put you out,
dream, dream, dream, dream, dream, dream.
Take your time, but beware, there's darkness in the air,
dream, dream, dream, dream, dream, dream.
(music and dream interlude)
Don't despair, step right up, glass of water? Here's a cup!
dream, dream, dream, dream, dream, dream.
(Song ends)
NIGHT TERRORS

When the sky grows dark after days on eve

Twisted shadows start to seeth

After night, the lurk the halls

And appear as frightening images on the walls

Do we image such a terrible foe?

In our sleep clad eyes senses running slow?

And as we clench our hands with fear,

Of a possible death lurking near

Our mind plays tricks and the shadows dance

Fear cocktails our mind within a fearful trance.

There is no rest until the sun rises anew

There is no sleep until the light glints off the morning dew

What is it then that lights our souls with dread?

Past demons come, or perhaps the whispers of the dead?

On the come to claw through open windows or seep through floors

Gliding unseen past locked and bolted doors

And as we ride the glittering highway of visions where no time flies

Through soft relaxed and shuttered eyes

So that while you sleep with a mind of stone

The shadow creeps outside in dark alone

Then it breaths, and out comes a rancid reek

And your beautiful dream gargles into a horrified shriek

You shoot up tight, heart pounding in nauseated fear

Of the evil that seems constantly near
Today, I will be talking about the different types of dreams. Varying from reccuring dreams or even something called epic dreams. However, I wil be talking about three types of dreams: lucid dreans, daydreams, and nightmares.
Lucid dreaming is an occurence in which you realizing you are dreaming. People who lucid dream become active participants in their own dreams, making decisions within them and changing their outcome. Daydreams is classified as a level of conciousness between sleep and wakefulness. Your mind lets your imagination make up scenarios or something of like a fantasy.
Lastly, we will discuss nightmares and its extreme relative, night terrors. Nightmares are disturbing dreams that causing you to wake up feeling anxious or scared. Although, night terrors are similar to nightmares, but more intense. Night terrors are sleep disturbances often in children involving intense amounts of fear, etc. However, sleep terrors are more difficult to wake up from and also hard to recall when awakened.

What are dreams? From scientific research to the spiritual connection through religion, many people wonder what exactly dreams are. The definition of dreams is a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep.
Unlike traditional way of research nowadays by internet, I have been indulging in Sigmund Freud's The Interpretation of Dreams. In this book, Sigmund explores the importance of dreams and the basis of the Oedipus complex. He explains how dreams are all forms of 'wish fulfillment' and are attempts by the unconscious to resolve either past or present conflicts.
Furthermore, I shall use his work as the base of my research. I will also produce an experiment were I record my dreams in the morning for a week and see if they do in fact have a significance. Lastly, I will provide articles on d
ifferent studies of why and how we have dreams.
